Second spectrum of 1/f noise due to mobility fluctuations: Simulations vs experiments in suspended graphene

نویسندگان

چکیده

Mobility fluctuations have been observed to influence 1/f noise in mesoscopic two-dimensional conductors recent experiments. If such mobility can be assigned clustering/declustering of defects/impurities, the second spectrum should also display character. In this work, we investigate due mobile impurities on a lattice both using kinetic Monte Carlo simulations (periodic boundary conditions either one or two directions) and experiments suspended graphene Corbino geometry. The indicate 1/fδ behavior with δ≃0.8 ± 0.15 for noise, while yield an exponent δ≃0.7 0.3, independent amount adsorbed atoms.

Limits on charge carrier mobility in suspended graphene due to flexural phonons.

The temperature dependence of the mobility in suspended graphene samples is investigated. In clean samples, flexural phonons become the leading scattering mechanism at temperature T≳10 K, and the resistivity increases quadratically with T. Flexural phonons limit the intrinsic mobility down to a few m(2)/V s at room T. Their effect can be eliminated by applying strain or placing graphene on a su...

Weak Localization in Graphene: Theory, Simulations, and Experiments

We provide a comprehensive picture of magnetotransport in graphene monolayers in the limit of nonquantizing magnetic fields. We discuss the effects of two-carrier transport, weak localization, weak antilocalization, and strong localization for graphene devices of various mobilities, through theory, experiments, and numerical simulations. In particular, we observe a minimum in the weak localizat...

Near-carrier oscillator spectrum due to flicker and white noise

The effect of device noise on oscillator phase noise in a close vicinity of average oscillator frequency is analyzed. We show that for 1/f noise, the line shape of a free-running oscillator changes from power to approximately Gaussian function very close to the oscillator frequency. The Gaussian regime occurs when the relationship between device noise and oscillator spectrum is strongly nonline...

Ballistic interferences in suspended graphene.

The low-energy electronic excitations in graphene are described by massless Dirac fermions that have a linear dispersion relation. Taking advantage of this 'optics-like' electron dynamics, generic optical elements like lenses and wave guides have been proposed for electrons in graphene. Tuning of these elements relies on the ability to adjust the carrier concentration in defined areas. However,...
